Maria – Hudson Native & The Face of Axe Play
Maria is the heart and face of Axe Play. Born and raised right here in Hudson, New Hampshire, Maria has deep roots in the community. Before opening Axe Play, Maria owned and operated a successful childcare center—an experience that shaped her passion for safety, organization, and creating joyful environments for all ages. After “retiring” from childcare, she teamed up with her husband, Matt, to open Axe Play and bring something bold and unforgettable to their hometown.
As a proud mom who raised three sons in Hudson, Maria has built Axe Play to reflect the values of family, community, and good, clean fun. Her friendly, welcoming energy and attention to detail make every guest feel like part of the family.
Matt - Marine Veteran & "Axe" Enthusiast
Matt is the strong arm behind Axe Play—literally and figuratively. A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Matt worked in law enforcement until his retirement in September 2020. His background in leadership and public safety laid the groundwork for Axe Play’s mission: safe, structured fun that brings people together.
When he’s not helping guests learn to throw, you’ll likely find Matt fixing targets, fine-tuning the Fun Box, or greeting visitors with a big smile and a bigger axe. He and Maria have created a place where fun and family go hand-in-hand, and where community always comes first.

Dave “The Axe Master” – Venue Manager and Axepert

Stephanie – Axepert Extraordinaire

Ryan – Axepert
